Vintage Indonesian Puppet: Ramayana Character, 1970s

This is a puppet from Indonesia. His name is Ramayana. His wife was kidnapped, and when she was saved by a white monkey and returned he demanded to know if she was still a virgin. Shinta decided to throw herself in a fire in which she did not burn. Telling her husband not only was she a virgin but holy as well. A great story, a beautiful piece of artwork. A story to be told over and over again, thus the puppets. The puppet is done in gold reds greens, and blue. Very vibrant very brilliant. The puppet itself is 20 inches long got a stick for the body and a stick for each arm. A very unique piece. She is looking for a new home.
